Mommy groups: Scourge or Savior?

If you’re a parent today, I’ll wager you’re in at least a couple parent groups on Facebook, What’sApp, or, head scratchingly, Yahoo groups.

I feel like every version of my life has a group - moms from business school, moms from my neighborhood, tech moms, south asian moms, a small group of my closest friends. Each their own group, each jostling for space in my head as I scan endless headlines for what I’m clearly not thinking about - the best new car seats, that product recall, the latest plastics research.

It’s a lot. A bit too much even.

But then I look across the couch and ask J how many he’s in - a grand total of zero. Actually make that 1 as the husband of one of the women in my business school group decided to finally start a dads group. 8 years later.

And it’s been fascinating to see.
